FOGG asks you to attend the “final” Planning Department Community Workshop, scheduled for WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2010, 5:00 – 7:00 PM – PORT COMMISSION HEARING ROOM, FERRY BUILDING, 2ND FLOOR.
As stated on their website, the Planning Department will present their ‘Refined Urban Design Recommendations and Urban Design Guidelines’. Please click here for their website.
We have not received their agenda yet, but as soon as it arrives we will notify you.
It is imperative that as many FOGG supporters as possible be present for this Workshop. We are sure that the supporters of the proposed 8 Washington Street project will attend in large numbers.
You must ask yourself: Would you want to lose our open recreational space (Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club) that is enjoyed by so many of our neighbors throughout the City, never to return in its present form? If your answer as we expect is “no” then show up for this meeting, and make a statement.
This open recreational facility has been an integral part of the Planned Gateway Community for over 40 years. We cannot allow those who are only concerned with their own financial gains to destroy it. These people are very powerful, well financed and committed to build the luxury condominiums and underground parking garage on the Club site. Both the SF Port and Planning Department support the developer, want the 8 Washington Street project to be built, and have been making every effort to achieve that objective.
If you have never attended one of these Workshops now is the critical time for you to show up and be heard. For those supporters who have been there when needed please come again. We need you all.
Put February 24 on your calendar. We look forward to seeing you there.
