We are reminding you that the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the 8 Washington Street luxury condominium and underground parking lot project will be heard by the SF Planning Commission on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Please mark your calendar.
It is necessary that our supporters are aware of this critical date, and that your participation will be needed to send a strong message of our opposition to this development proposed by San Francisco Waterfront Partners. FOGG will provide the exact time and location of this hearing and ‘talking points’ as the date approaches.
This development will reduce our community’s recreational Center by more than 50% and significantly alter the character, building scale and open space of our neighborhood.
A reduction in recreational facilities FOGG believes would no doubt mean the end of the many family activities we now enjoy including Summer Kids Camp, USTA league tennis, tennis clinics, senior aquatic sessions, social family programs, community outreach, and much more.
Now is the time for all to get involved – vocally and financially. All who enjoy the benefits of this one of a kind recreational Center need to participate.
FOGG asks that you make your voices heard. For the first step please request a copy of the EIR from the SF Planning Department (if you have not already done so).
To obtain a print copy or CD of the EIR at no cost, please email email@example.com. You will receive the EIR by mail or CD at no cost.
Second, please review the EIR and offer specific comments. FOGG will be sending out the addresses of where to send your comments in a future Alert.
FOGG also needs your financial help so that our efforts can continue. We thank those who have recently contributed in reply to our May 27, 2011 FOGG Alert.
We ask everyone to make a tax-deductible donation so we can continue our 8 year long fight to preserve our neighborhood open recreational space.
Please send your tax-deductible donation by check to PDF/FOGG, mailed to Jim Eggert, Treasurer and CPA, 550 Davis Street #46, San Francisco, CA 94111. In writing your check, please enter on the memo line “Tax Deductible Donation.”
Or you can donate online by clicking on the Donations to FOGG link on this website.
There is still a long way to go in the process, but we need to act now to move ahead. Together we can show that we are united in our efforts for a better community and neighborhood.
FOGG looks forward to your positive and prompt response.
