FOGG Open Letter – July 20, 2012

This Open Letter is for the many volunteers who spent hours upon hours and much energy in obtaining the needed required signatures for the ballot referendum.  We also want to thank the large number of donors who supported our efforts.

The hard work paid off. The SF Department of Elections now has up to 30 days to verify that more than 19,405 signatures are from validly registered San Francisco voters to qualify the referendum on the ballot.  Over 31,000 signatures were gathered.

FOGG invites our volunteers and donors to come and share in a celebration that we have created together by joining us at L’Olivier Restaurant, 465 Davis Court on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 5:00pm.

Please come and participate in acknowledging your own volunteer work and thanking the efforts of former Supervisor Aaron Peskin and Jon Golinger, who provided the leadership for the “NO WALL ON THE WATERFRONT” campaign, District Three Supervisor and Board President David Chiu, and Supervisors John Avalos and David Campos, who took the heat and voted in our favor.

It is also time to recognize the legal knowledge and understanding of how our political system works.  We owe a great deal of thanks to FOGG’s attorney Sue Hestor and consultant Brad Paul, who together continue to give us valuable guidance.

FOGG also appreciates the creative efforts of the HEAT advertising staff who provided the flyers and posters that graphically stated the ‘NO WALL’ position.

This is not a victory celebration, as there is much more that must be accomplished, but it is a major step towards a final positive conclusion to make the Northeast Embarcadero Waterfront a symbol of what should be a shining example for the entire City of San Francisco and its visitors.

Please join us in an evening of celebration – Monday, July 23rd, L’Olivier Restaurant, 465 Davis Court at 5:00pm with a toast to the future.

Thanks so much to all of you!
