ACTION! Supervisors Re-Vote, Tuesday, September 4, 2012
FOGG wants to advise you of the upcoming SF Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Following the official certification of the Waterfront Referendum petitions signatures earlier this month, the Board has scheduled the required “re-vote” on the height limit increase Ordinance for this meeting.
Our goal is to have the Board repeal their vote supporting the Ordinance they have previously approved.
We once again ask our supporters for help with three actions that could change the outcome.
FIRST: We ask all Waterfront Referendum supporters to urge the following four Supervisors to vote on September 4th to “repeal the 8 Washington Waterfront Height Limit Increase Ordinance”.
Supervisor Christina Olague (District 5)
(415) 554-7630 Christina.Olague@sfgov.org
Supervisor Eric Mar (District 1)
(415) 554-7410 – Voice
Supervisor Jane Kim (District 6)
(415) 554-7970 – Voice
Supervisor Malia Cohen (District 10)
Please send a copy of your emails to email@example.com and to No Wall Headquarters at WaterfrontReferendum@gmail.com. Please also send a copy to District 3 Supervisor and Board President David Chiu at David.Chiu@sfgov.org.
SECOND: The No Wall on the Waterfront Campaign is seeking volunteers to help with grassroots outreach to voters in the key Supervisor Districts over the next two weeks. If you are willing to donate a few hours to help post signs, call voters, or attend a candidate debate, please contact Angela Giang immediately at (415) 894-7008 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
THIRD: FOGG also asks our supporters to attend the September 4th SF Board of Supervisors meeting. We will update you as to the time, and if public testimony may be presented.
FOGG asked Jon Golinger, No Wall Campaign Director, to give us an update on what has been taking place concerning our joint efforts. We thank Jon for his comments.
UPDATES FROM NO WALL.
A poll of 400 San Francisco voters by David Binder Research that was taken last month found that 56% of likely voters oppose the 8 Washington height limit increase while only 25% of voters support it, with 24% undecided. The poll also found that a clear majority of voters in each of those Supervisors’ districts oppose the height limit increase.
The Sierra Club and the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club have just voted to join our coalition to oppose the 8 Washington Height Limit Increase.
