FOGG wishes our Friends & Supporters the very best for the Holiday Season and a Healthy New Year.
We have much to be thankful for. Our community’s open recreational space is still here.
We almost lost it!
Thanks to all of you who helped us in 2012. FOGG truly appreciates the efforts of our supporters to preserve this recreational space.
Without a doubt, 2012 was a roller coaster ride of emotions in our joint efforts to save the GGT&SC recreational center for the thousands of families, youngsters, retirees and guests who use the Club facility on a daily basis.
We succeeded in stopping the 8 Washington Street developer in 2012. We know Mr. Snellgrove is well financed by CalSTRS and he has the backing of power brokers who only wish to maximize their profit developing this ‘underutilized’ facility at the expense of the community. The community continues to state its desire to preserve the character, building scale and open space of the neighborhood. The 8 Washington Street development does not do this.
Much of the credit for stopping Mr. Snellgrove must go to our “NO WALL” Coalition partners who stood with us.
We still have a way to go.
We know that 2013 will be a watershed year as we gear up for the November 5, 2013 Referendum ballot proposal, approved by over 31,000 San Francisco resident petition signatures. The opposition is not waiting until November to witness the outcome. They are already gearing up for what will be an expensive and hard fought battle.
Even during this Holiday Season, Mr. Snellgrove is trying to use his political influence to achieve an advantage. FOGG is ready. We see what he is doing and will not let him proceed. With your continued support we are confident. The GGT&SC has been here for 45 years and will be here for another 45 years if all of you help us.
You can help us very soon in the New Year.
You are invited to a NO WALL ON THE WATERFRONT KICKOFF PARTY. The party is on Thursday, January 17, 2013 starting at 6:00pm. It is at the NO WALL Headquarters in San Francisco at 15 Columbus Avenue. Special Guest speaker is former Mayor Art Agnos.
We look forward to a large FOGG turnout, and your continued support throughout 2013.
Once again, FOGG wishes you a very Happy Holiday Season and a Healthy New Year.
