CALSTRS PUT ON NOTICE
Our partners at NO WALL has sent the California State Teachers’ Pension Fund (CalSTRS) a letter asking that they reconsider their $42 million investment in the proposed 8 Washington Street high rise luxury condominium on San Francisco’s historic waterfront. This project would destroy our community’s outdoor recreational center, the GGT&SC, which has been on this site for over 45 years.
FOGG thanks Jon Golinger, NO WALL Campaign Director, for this well done and to the point letter.
You can read the letter at this link. No Wall CalSTRS letter
FOGG asks our supporters, especially teachers and retired teachers to add your voice in opposition to CalSTRS continued funding of the 8 Washington Street luxury condominium project.
Please write to Mr. Harry M. Keiley, Chair, Teachers’ Retirement Board Investment Committee, CalSTRS, 100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento, CA 95604.
The Investment Committee meets in February, so please send your letters as early as possible. Please send a copy to FOGG at Friends of Golden Gateway, P.O. Box 2294, San Francisco, CA 94126.
Let us show them we are united in preventing a WALL of high rise, high priced condominiums on our waterfront with no consideration to preserve the character, building scale and open space of our neighborhood.
