“End Run” by Developer!!
Simon Snellgrove and his partners are trying an “end run” to advance the proposed 8 Washington Street high-rise luxury condominium project.
He is seeking approval from the San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW) to begin an extensive series of construction projects for new water, sewer, and gas lines including sidewalk replacement. They are making their presentation to DPW Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at City Hall. The hearing begins at 9:00 am.
This arrogance by Snellgrove and others must not go unheeded.
Our coalition partners NO WALL have issued a News Release. The News Release includes a strong statement of disapproval by our District Three Supervisor and Board President David Chiu asking that city officials respect the democratic process “…and ensure that the people are heard at the November ballot box before any aspect of 8 Washington is stamped ‘approved’”.
As you are aware, the voters of San Francisco will decide at the November 5, 2013 election whether or not to approve the ‘spot zoning’ height increase for the 8 Washington Street proposed project.

We urge you to let your District Supervisor and the Mayor know that this kind of undemocratic effort is not acceptable in San Francisco and will not be forgotten.
