A Very Happy Thanksgiving & Hanukkah!!
We have much to be thankful for this Holiday Season. The voters of San Francisco overwhelmingly rejected the 8 Washington high rise luxury condominium project proposed by Simon Snellgrove and his political supporters.
Their project would have been the first step in building a wall of high rise condominiums along the Embarcadero. Other proposals will be coming elsewhere along the Embarcadero, and we hope the voters value our open waterfront rather than allowing it to become like Miami Beach.
We now have some time to prepare ourselves for whatever the Mr. Snellgrove next presents. FOGG is taking the initiative. The Asian Neighborhood Design Community Vision developed with the assistance of FOGG and a number of community organizations is still very much alive, and should be front and center with both the SF Port and Planning Commissions.
You can view the AND Vision at this link. Community Vision
We have been running a marathon for over 10 years. Our NO WALL Coalition partners did the sprint, and the voters of San Francisco carried us across the finish line. Who would have thought that so many years of effort would be decided on just one day – November 5, 2013!!
There are so many of you who helped us – hundreds and hundreds of you who gave your time and money. We know you will be there again when called upon.
PLEASE ACCEPT OUR SINCEREST THANKS FOR ALL YOUR VOLUNTEER EFFORTS!
Lastly, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fall on the same day this year. This will not happen again until 2070. We would be thankful if Mr. Snellgrove will adhere to the same schedule.
