FOGG Open Letter – November 23, 2013

A Very Happy Thanksgiving & Hanukkah!!

We have much to be thankful for this Holiday Season.  The voters of San Francisco overwhelmingly rejected the 8 Washington high rise luxury condominium project proposed by Simon Snellgrove and his political supporters.

Their project would have been the first step in building a wall of high rise condominiums along the Embarcadero.  Other proposals will be coming elsewhere along the Embarcadero, and we hope the voters value our open waterfront rather than allowing it to become like Miami Beach.

We now have some time to prepare ourselves for whatever the Mr. Snellgrove next presents.  FOGG is taking the initiative. The Asian Neighborhood Design Community Vision developed with the assistance of FOGG and a number of community organizations is still very much alive, and should be front and center with both the SF Port and Planning Commissions.

You can view the AND Vision at this link.  Community Vision

We have been running a marathon for over 10 years.  Our NO WALL Coalition partners did the sprint, and the voters of San Francisco carried us across the finish line.  Who would have thought that so many years of effort would be decided on just one day – November 5, 2013!!

There are so many of you who helped us – hundreds and hundreds of you who gave your time and money.  We know you will be there again when called upon.

Lastly, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fall on the same day this year.  This will not happen again until 2070.  We would be thankful if Mr. Snellgrove will adhere to the same schedule.

FOGG Alert – November 7, 2013

Simon Snellgrove and his 8 Washington Street high rise luxury condominium project has been overwhelming rejected in the November 5, 2013 election.

Over 60% of the San Francisco voters said a resounding NO on Propositions B and C.

The voters strongly stated that our waterfront belongs to everyone, not to just a handful of millionaires, greedy developers and the politicians who back them.

Congratulations to each of you who spent so many volunteer hours and made donations to make this victory possible.

A very special thank you to our NO WALL ON THE WATERFRONT COMMITTEE Coalition partner for their skill and hard work in bringing so many community groups together for a successful campaign.

It was a grassroots victory!!

Now we must move ahead in making sure our victory is not a short lived one.  We must provide a positive and convincing long range plan for the northeast waterfront that benefits the neighborhood…the City…and the visitors who love the openness of our waterfront.

Stay tuned for what is the continuing saga of saving the San Francisco waterfront for everyone.

And once again, our sincerest thanks to all the FOGG volunteers who gave more than 100% for the cause.

FOGG Alert – November 1, 2013

THIS IS IT!! – FIVE DAYS TO GO – Tuesday, November 5, 2013

The San Francisco election is upon us.

FOGG doesn’t have a crystal ball to tell how the San Francisco November 5th election will go.  The voters will decide the future of the San Francisco waterfront.

A waterfront for all of us or high rise luxury condominiums.

We do know that our dedicated volunteers have done a fantastic job in getting the word out to vote NO on Proposition B and NO on Proposition C.

The opposition has the bucks and an abundance of false, misleading advertising.

We had the energy and dedication to oppose the increase in height limits and building a WALL of gated, exclusive condominiums on the waterfront.

IS THIS YOUR VISION OF SAN FRANCISCO FOR THE NEXT 100 YEARS? Continue reading “FOGG Alert – November 1, 2013”
