FOGG Alert – January 24, 2014

FOGG has some really good news for you!

On January 17, 2014, San Francisco Superior Court Judge A. James Robinson II issued a ruling that the California State Lands Commission violated state environmental law when it approved removal of public trust restrictions from Seawall Lot 351.

As you may recall, SWL 351 was an important part of the proposed 8 Washington Street high rise luxury condominium project that was overwhelming rejected by San Francisco voters on the November 5, 2013 ballot.

This is a great Court ruling and we are pleased that environmental laws are being enforced on this important public trust property.

FOGG applauds the outstanding work of attorney Susan Brandt-Hawley who led the legal battle through many long difficult months, and came out with a real victory!!

You may read the press release and Court ruling at the January 17, 2014 Court Ruling & Press Release Page link on this website.

This legal action is another major step in the right direction to preserve our community’s outdoor recreational center – the Bay Club at the Gateway.

As always, FOGG will keep you updated with more breaking news.
