FOGG Alert – August 14, 2014

Our NO WALL partners are holding a PRESS CONFERENCE this Friday, August 15, 2014 in front of the Ferry building. The Press Conference begins at 12:30 pm.

Our NO WALL partners want to urge Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and the State Lands Commission (SLC) to stop suing to silence San Francisco’s voice on the waterfront. The SLC is suing to overturn Proposition B, the waterfront height limits initiative, approved by San Francisco voters in the June 2014 election.

We urge as many FOGG supporters as possible to attend the Press Conference.

The SLC will be meeting at 1 pm in the Ferry Building, second floor Conference Room. Public comment will be allowed. Our supporters are welcomed to attend this meeting and offer testimony.

The Agenda can be read at this link:  Agenda

New campaign finance reports have revealed that Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom has received over $50,000 in campaign contributions for his statewide campaigns from real estate industry opponents of the Proposition B waterfront height limits measure and from Simon Snellgrove’s development team, who are quietly still trying to sneak through the 8 Washington Street waterfront luxury condo development San Francisco voters overwhelming rejected last year.

Speaking of large bucks trying to kill the public’s wishes on the Waterfront, the SF Chronicle recently reported that Simon Snellgrove (Pacific Waterfront Partners), the 8 Washington developer, gave a $35,000 charitable contribution to sit down and have dinner with Mayor Ed Lee. We wonder how much of a tip was left.

Need we remind everyone that it was this Mayor and Mr. Newsom who made TV ads in last November’s election in support of Mr. Snellgrove’s 8 Washington project.  Quid Pro Quo?
