FOGG Alert – May 29, 2013

Allan Jacobs, long time member of our outdoor recreational center, and former Director of the SF Planning Department, wrote an excellent to the point editorial in the Tuesday, May 28, 2013 San Francisco Examiner on developer Simon Snellgrove’s effort to place an initiative on the November 5, 2013 San Francisco ballot.

You can read this editorial at the link provided in the NO WALL May 28, 2013 email below. Continue reading “FOGG Alert – May 29, 2013”

The SFDCCC will once again take up whether to endorse a YES or NO position on the 8 Washington Street height increase for Simon Snellgrove’s proposed luxury high rise condominium project on the November 5, 2013 San Francisco ballot.

FOGG asks that we again have a strong turnout.  Please be prepared to provide your testimony to support a NO vote on increased height limits.  We expect Mr. Snellgrove’s supporters will show up in large numbers.

FOGG also wants to thank District Three Supervisor and Board President David Chiu who conducted the Government Audit and Oversight (GAO) Committee meeting on Thursday, May 9, 2013 on the 8 Washington Proposed Project Potential Impact on Nearby Assets.”

Supervisor Chiu provided strong and direct leadership in seeking the facts on how the 8 Washington project, if approved, would negatively impact the North Force Main and other improvements that are presently being installed by SF Public Utilities.

There is more to come.  Thanks as always for your support.

City Hall Hearing – 8 Washington Project

The Board of Supervisors Government Audit & Oversight (GAO) Committee will meet on Thursday, May 9, 1013.  The meeting begins at 10:00am and is in Committee meeting Room 263.

Agenda Item 3 is “8 Washington Proposed Project Potential Impact on Nearby Assets.”

This issue has to do with the potential impacts that the 8 Washington project if approved would have on the North Force Main and other improvements that are presently being installed by Public Utilities.

The 8 Washington project as proposed could cause irreparable damage with a major earthquake and/or high rising bay waters to the City’s water and sewage systems in the northwest corner of the City.

FOGG looks forward to a good turnout of our supporters.

The May 9th GAO Agenda can be seen at this link.  Agenda
