FOGG Alert – April 23, 2013

Simon Snellgrove of San Francisco Waterfront Partners is planning to put his own initiative on the November 5, 2013 San Francisco election ballot.

This initiative, if approved, would create a duel between his ballot measure and the ‘NO WALL’ ballot measure.

As you are well aware, the ‘NO WALL’ Ballot Referendum was approved over 8 months ago.  The voters of San Francisco will be asked to say YES or NO to allow a height increase along the Embarcadero for Mr. Snellgrove’s high rise luxury condominium project known as 8 Washington. Summer Kids Camps FOGG Scholarship Program – Update

FOGG wants to update you on our Summer Kids Camp Scholarship Program.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have received enough donations to sponsor 13 kids for this year’s Camp.  And, thanks to the management of the Golden Gateway Tennis & Swim Club, for every two kids that we can support, GGT&SC will sponsor another child. That is three kids for every two kids FOGG sponsors.

We are happy to tell you that 19 kids can attend Camp this year!

FOGG wants to do even better.

The Kids Camp runs from June through August.  At least 700 kids attend each summer.  With your donations, youngsters from low income housing have the chance to enjoy swimming, tennis, interactive social programs, and just having fun in a safe, family friendly environment.  This benefits not only the kids, but the entire community.

A week in Kids Camp includes skilled instruction in a variety of sports and activities.  The Camp provides daily lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and a Commemorative Summer Kids Camp tee-shirt.  There are also Special Friday treats, surprise guests and more.

These kids are supervised by trained instructors, many of whom were former Kids Camp attendees.

The cost for a kid to attend is $500.  FOGG wants to sponsor even more kids than the number already reached.  Please donate any amount you can as every dollar counts toward helping another deserving youngster attend Summer Kids Camp.

Please send your tax deductible donation to Friends of Golden Gateway, P.O. Box 2294, San Francisco, CA 94126.  Please make your checks out to PDF/FOGG, and on the memo line write “Scholarship”.

FOGG has had a successful 3 years in providing this community service that we are sure will continue for many years to come.

Thank you in advance for your support.
